Better Grades: We've found that students who live on campus get better grades.

Great Location: All of our residence halls are conveniently located near classroom buildings and dining facilities.

Supportive Staff: Your resident assistant (RA) will be available to answer any questions you might have as you get settled in at Penn State.

Exciting Activities: The Residence Life staff sponsors many activities in and around the residence hall areas.

Enviable Housing Options: Depending on your campus, on-campus students have the opportunity to request a suite, a single room in a standard residence hall, or an on-campus apartment for their sophomore, junior, and/or senior years.

Student-Friendly Housing Contract: If you live in the residence halls, you'll sign a Housing Contract only for the semester(s) or session(s) you'll be enrolled as a student-not a yearlong lease, which is typical if you live off campus. There's no need to worry about subletting your room. And if you plan to graduate a semester early, study abroad, or do an internship that requires you to live off campus, you can cancel the remainder of your contract without penalty.

eLiving Housing Contract Process

Contract Process for Prospective and First-Year Students at University Park
If you are planning to apply or are planning to enroll in a degree program for the first time, click here to learn more about the process to obtain housing. First-year students at Penn State University Park are required to live on campus. If you have not yet accepted your offer of admission to Penn State, you are considered a prospective student, and are not eligible to reserve housing until you have accepted your offer to Penn State.

Contract Process for Prospective Students at Commonwealth Campuses
If you are planning to apply or are planning to enroll in a degree program for the first time, click here to learn more about the process to obtain housing. First-year students may apply for housing at Commonwealth Campuses where available. If you have not yet accepted your offer of admission to Penn State, you are considered a prospective student, and are not eligible to request a Housing Contract until you accept your offer of admission to Penn State.

Contract Process for Current Penn State Students at any Penn State Campus
If you are a current student enrolled at Penn State, click here to learn more about the housing process after your first year. Eligibility to request a Housing Contract is based on the campus you plan to attend.

Transfer Students from Other Universities
A transfer student is transferring from another university with advanced standing (greater than first- or second-semester standing).  Housing for students at University Park is only guaranteed to students with first- or second-semester standing.  For subsequent semesters students must request a contract and offers are made randomly until all spaces are filled.  A limited number of spaces will be reserved for students who are transferring from another university on a first-come, first-served basis.
