Housing process for current Penn State students at any campus.
Current Penn State students interested in living on campus for the 2008-2009 academic year must use eLiving to submit a Contract Request and accept a Contract Offer. Information about the process is available by selecting any of the left-hand menu links.

Current students may request a Housing Contract beginning at noon on Thursday November 29, 2007. Students are responsible for reviewing the timeline for additional dates and deadlines.

Access User ID and Password: Your Penn State Access Account User ID (e.g., abc1234) and password are required to log in to eLiving. Information about your contract will be posted on eLiving.

Eligibility Guidelines: Eligibility to request a Housing Contract is based on the campus you plan to attend.

University Park: Students who are currently living on campus at University Park or have requested a change of campus to University Park from another Penn State campus are eligible to request a Housing Contract for University Park. Off-campus students at University Park may add their names to the Waitlist beginning February 1, 2008.

Reserved Groups at University Park: The process and timelines detailed on the eLiving website is focused on the process for regular Housing Contracts. Certain groups at University Park are considered a reserved group, and may have a different process and/or timeline to follow. Students who are associated with a reserved group are responsible for following the process identified and meeting deadlines associated with that reserved group.

Altoona, Beaver, Greater Allegheny, Harrisburg, Hazleton, and Mont Alto: Students who are living on or off campus at these campuses or have requested a Change of Campus to one of these campuses from another Penn State campus are eligible to request a Housing Contract.

Berks and Erie, The Behrend College: Students who are currently living on campus at Berks or Behrend or are requesting a Change of Campus are eligible to request a Housing Contract. Off-campus students can add their names to the Waitlist beginning February 1, 2008. Students transferring from another university or college to Behrend will receive a Housing Contract during the admission process.

Current students who will be away from campus Fall 2008 or Spring 2009

University Park students: If you wish to live on-campus but will be away one semester for study abroad, student teaching, internships, co-ops, or leave of absence, you must go through eLiving to secure a Housing Contract. When your plans are finalized, you must contact the Assignment Office to have your contract cancelled for the semester you will be away from campus.

Commonwealth Campuses: if you will be away from campus either Fall 2008 or Spring 2009, contact your campus Housing and Food Services Office during Fall semester 2007 for further information.

Current students considering a Change of Campus to another Penn State campus

If you are considering a Change of Campus, you should first initiate the request through the Change of Campus contact in the Registrar’s office. If you are interested in living on campus, you must participate in the eLiving Housing Contract System during the established timeline.

If you receive a Housing Contract offer for a campus that is not your current campus of enrollment, this does not imply that your Change of Campus has been or will be approved. Accepting the Housing Contract offer does not guarantee that your Change of Campus will be approved.

It is highly recommended that you submit a request for both campuses – your current campus of enrollment, and your expected Change of Campus. If you are offered a Housing Contract for one or both campuses, you should accept both offers, even if your Change of Campus has not yet been approved. Once it is determined which campus you will attend, it is your responsibility to cancel the Housing Contract for the campus you will not be attending by contacting Housing and Food Services.

Housing space is not reserved for students requesting a Change of Campus. If you do not participate in the eLiving Housing Contract Process during the established timeline, and you do not have a Housing Contract, you may add your name to the Waitlist. There is no guarantee you will receive an offer for a Housing Contract.

Additional information about Change of Campus is available at www.registrar.psu.edu/change_campus/change_campus.cfm.
